He had his first race at four competing in the under-nine class at Hatcher’s dirt racing track on the Gold Coast. He won his first race at nine and over the next five years amassed 41 dirt and long track titles and 70 various state championships. He may only be 21 but Stoner has already earned a long and glowing CV in that modern online encyclopedia of all things current and past Wikipedia. Tiger Woods of course also stuffed silverware into a bursting trophy cabinet at a precocious rate while a youngster and like Woods it was a serious portent of things to come.
