The page hosted on Bing provides the definition symptoms and most important a “When to seek medical advice” section. A Microsoft exec told me that 45 percent of Web searches are on health so getting reliable answers is critical. In contrast searching for asthma in Google brought a Wikipedia result up at the top and. While I’m a huge fan of Wikipedia its user-contributed content is probably not something I want to bet my well-being on. Sample SearchesI was looking for my local yoga teacher Johan a French native who moved to New York. Searching Bing for yoga johan new york pointed to one of his studios first and a video of him second. Google for some reason changed his name to John so none of the top results had anything to do with my guy.

You can browse Artists Works and Top Sales and also play a quiz game. Searches are possible but only of artwork not of artists. Images may be rotated horizontally providing a better viewing experience for images so oriented.

The woman was checking out the well-known childrens’ book Mrs Frisby and the Rats of Nimh for her son. It had been recommended by a national programme to encourage children to read more the Premier’s Reading Challenge. However the mother was shocked to find that Wikipedia’s online plot summary included sexual and violent acts that were definitely not in the original. The book which describes how a group of lab rats come to the rescue of a field mouse with a sick son is aimed at children about ten years old.

It took some digging to find a proper D25 adapter and even then the original serial adapter wasn’t working because the oscillator depends on the serial voltage. He dials in and connects at 300baud. Then logs into a remote system and fires up lynx to load Wikipedia. Lucky for [phreakmonkey] they managed to decide on a modulation standard in 1962. It’s still amazing to see this machine working 45 years later. Although impractical for surfing the Internet today there is something truly cool about getting a 45-year old modem to work with modern technology. The question I have is what is the oldest working piece of equipment fellow Slashdotters have out there? I’m afraid as far back as I can go is a Number Nine Imagine 128 Series 2 Graphics card on a server still in use at my house which only puts me at about 14 years.
